Man in essence is the monad. The spark of God. The Self. The Self reflects itself as the soul.
It is the soul who incarnates. Who build the personality.

The truth here is that Emotions are desires either to perpetuate a situation if pleasurable, or to escape out of it if painful; and the prospective fulfilment of the desire or the defeat thereof, in expectation and imagination, gives the foretaste of the corresponding Pleasure or Pain, and makes the pleasurableness or painfulness of the total mood.

Through identification the soul builds the personality. In first instance the soul gets caught in the 'sense of personality'. He identify himself as the not-self.
The sheats of the personality are made of little involutionary lives - the elementals. For a long period man identifies with their dictates and man can't discriminate between the Selfl

Desire: A personal want, a need, will in the personal sense. Seperation.
Action: The expression of the desire, behaviour.
